Having completed photography studies with the New York Institute of Photography, NY; Institute of Modern Photography, New Jersey; Kodak Canada; and Art studies at Memorial University, St. John's, NF., I spent several more years of study in the Photographic Arts in various provinces of Canada. In Toronto, I completed studies in the Art of Film and Video with Sony Canada and Kodak Canada. Studies included; Television Production, Video and Film Equipment and Video Production. I also studied Graphic Design at the College of the North Atlantic, St. John's, NF. Throughout the years, I have attended various upgrading and refresher courses at various Universities across Canada. I have also lectured at various high schools and Universities in eastern Canada on the Photographic Arts to obtain credits towards my Masters degree.

Thoroughly versed in photography, graphic design, and video production with a career that has spanned more than 40 years (over 31 years operating my own company), I have completed major design projects involving posters, newspaper and magazine advertisements, brochures, press kits, display booths, television commercials and corporate videos. 

Through my membership with the Professional Photographers of Canada, I have earned National Accreditation’s in the categories of Industrial Photography, General Portraiture and Formal Wedding. I have also had character studies entered in the PPOC National Print competition, and accepted to hang in the association's National Print Gallery.

At Present I am working on my Master of the Photograph Arts and American Master of the Photograph Arts

Gerry Boland Studio Productions Ltd. was founded in 1976. Since its inception we have grown into a full in-house photographic and video production company. As the owner, Gerry Boland got his start in advertising photography in the early sixties, working with the retailers of Newfoundland and Labrador. This eventually lead to television production. Working with graphic artists everyday, his interest in graphic design began to grow. Having studied various courses in fine arts and design, for the last twenty-eight years he have used his design talents to produce award winning photographic assignments as well as design for television and the printed medium.

Photography:

The studio has a full range of still photographic equipment, which allows us to complete any photographic assignment locally, nationally or internationally. From 35mm/Digital to 4x5 view cameras with various lenses and special effects filters, lighting equipment and darkroom facilities and over thirty-five years experience photography, we bring sound knowledge and some of the best equipment made to all assignments.

Video Production:

We have full in-house facilities for television production, promotional videos and documentaries. On the production side, we have a state of the art beta digital broadcast camera, sound equipment, lighting packages and other production equipment necessary to complete any assignment. In post production we have liner and non-liner broadcast facilities special effects and in house/contract graphic capabilities.

Print:

Newspaper ads, magazine ads, posters, booth design and booth displays, press kits, folders and promotional material for various clients is completed in-house as a complete package from concept to design, photography, graphic design and production. Completed courses in the various computer programs for design and graphic arts has aided in both the graphic design and photo re-touching and enhancement. We pride ourselves on having the latest in computer equipment and software technologies.
